Wave interference - Simulation

By Sandile MHlophe -
Topics Interference Double Slit Diffraction Waves Description Make waves with a dripping faucet, audio speaker, or laser! Add a second source to create an interference pattern. Put up a barrier to explore single-slit diffraction and double-slit interference. Experiment with diffraction through elliptical, rectangular, or irregular apertures. Sample Learning Goals Make waves with water, sound, and light and see how they are related. Design an experiment to measure the speed of the wave. Create an interference pattern with two sources, and determine the ways to change the pattern. Find points of constructive and destructive interference by eye and by using the detectors. Put up a barrier to see how the waves move through one or two slits. What sort of pattern do the slits create? How can you change this pattern? For light, predict the locations of the fringes that appear on the screen using d sin(θ) = mλ. Use the tape measure to verify your predictions. Explain how the aperture geo...

Segregation during apartheid in South Africa.

By Sandile MHlophe -
The significance of race and ethnicity in the separation amongst individuals during the years of apartheid. Posted by   Sikhanyisiwe Mkhonto Race and Ethnicity are terms that are used interchangeably by the society. Studies have been conducted in trying to find ways to define these terms. Race is a term that has a variety of meanings attached to it. However, the main idea of it all is that this word categorises people into groups that share a historical origin, characteristics and physical traits (MacEachern, 2012: 34-35). For example, an ethnic group have the same language in which they communicate in, they share similar ways of dressing, eating and even celebrating. One could be of the same ethnic group; however, their skin colours differ (Antweiler, 2015: 26). In this essay ...

By Sandile MHlophe -
Are you free?  we often think we are free but are we really free? this question sounds so simple yet it is actually not. What does it even mean to be free? Well in this post I will explain to the best of my knowledge what is free will and whether we have it or not. can you escape fate? Let's consider the story below: When Thabiso was born a prophet foretold that he would grow up to kill his father and then marry his mother. His father fearing for his life decided to leave the baby in the wilderness with the hope that he will die, thefore the prophecy will not come  true. The baby was found by another couple, and grew up knowing them as his parents. The boy heard of the prophecy, not knowing his adopted and because he loves his father(adopted) he decided to go away from his family to avoid the prophecy. In the way he met and killed a man and then felt bad for the wife of this man, he decided to marry her. The man he met is in fact his fat...

Break Up

By -
Khumalo Hendricks and I are no longer an item, as if this month could not get any worse. First the robbery now a break up, The reason is simple, our energies did not align anymore. I am no longer the same person I was prior the trauma and he just could not handle the change. We just drifted apart and no longer felt each others vibe. Anyways, such is life he was a great guy. I still haven't gone to therapy regarding my trauma, I do not know perhaps I am scared of being vulnerable and out in the open. Oh well we shall see, maybe next month I sure will give it a try.  Still practicing gratitude though, I am grateful to be alive an experience the blessing that is life itself. Until next time, bye.
