A lovely restaurant experience.

The Grass Here I was walking, minding my own business, then a restaurant so immaculate on the outside caught my attention. It had the view of the dam, flying ducks, birds chirping the works, so I thought to myself, let me try this place out. Of course for copyright and legal purposes I will give this place a false name, I will call it "The Grass". Upon entering you meet this wonderful calm, peaceful atmosphere, with almost the entire restaurant staring at you as if you a celebrity (No really they were staring)I do not know if there was something off with my makeup or my boyfriends ridiculous cowboy hat that he was wearing. Anyways, upon entering things were going so smoothly up until the moment of picking a table and decide what we should eat came about and ruined all that. Nothing but confusion First of all, the menu was piece of white A4 paper, typed in romans font size 14 (so much for creativity). Introduction to my University life.

I had always imagined that university would be like a candy shop. Full of sweet and pleasurable moments. Finally I would be free from parental rules and high school drama. The money that I would receive from bursaries would be enough for me to get whatever I desired.  Indeed in my first year in 2011, I found my true lover. He is not the typical tall, dark and handsome. Instead he is short, chubby and funny, something that about him tickled my taste buds and he indeed enjoyed tickling me. Khumalo Hendrick stood out from the rest of the crowd, ironically he is was the shortest, so yeah... Anyways, he had money and was funny so I guess that was a win.  My best friend Sbahle and I always used to chill at the cafeteria to buy some food, we both doing a BSc, of which I believe her science bursary covered most of her needs and I, well had to rely on Khumalo's help and the little I got from home.  Which brings me to my next point, university was not at all like a candy shop, if a...

How does practicing gratitude facilitate positivity?

  Often life can get so chaotic to a point where one forgets all the little things, they should be grateful for. Practicing gratitude can give a person a moment of relief.   Being grateful can give someone who is going through an unfortunate life event hope. If there is one or two things a person can be grateful for, it can put a person’s mind at ease that not everything is going terribly and there is some good that they need to be thankful for in their lives. Being thankful allows one to appreciate and when one is filled with a sense of appreciation, nothing but positive emotions start to manifest. Appreciating that at least you still have a life, gives one a chance to be hopeful that things will change for the better and that it is never too late to do something that will have a positive impact in their life.
